NEW DELHI: For Vistara, Monday’s (July 3) Delhi-Bengaluru flight UK 819 was a special one as it flew the 50 millionth passenger for the Tata Sons-Singapore Airlines (SIA) full service JV which had taken to the skies on January 9, 2015.
The sunset brand Vistara, which is proposed to be merged into Air India by next March, had reported its first profitable quarter in the October-December 2022 period and has now flown five crore passenger in over eight years of its existence.
“We are filled with gratitude and joy as we celebrate this remarkable feat of serving over 50 million customers. This milestone stands as a testament to the trust and confidence reposed in us by millions of customers. In a short span of time, we have also emerged as the ’16th Best Airline’ globally, and this success is credited to the passion and dedication of our employees reflecting in every aspect of their work, regardless of the challenges they faced,” Vistara CEO Vinod Kannan said.

To celebrate the five crore passenger mark, Vistara has launched a campaign – #50MillionFeelings that will see anamorphic 3D installation at Bengaluru, Delhi, and Mumbai airports and themed desserts being served on select flights.
